A silent comedy, but with politics, The Election charts the final hours of a hopeless campaign, and the agonising wait for votes to be counted and a winner to be declared. The party leader is slowly going to pieces, and everyone else is desperately trying to stop the ship from going down.
Combining the frenzy and farce of election night with the slapstick irreverence of silent comedy, The Election is politics with an edge. A silly, silly edge.
