"With a new student management team every Fringe [Bedlam] has that spark of excitement you'd only normally get from a brand new venue."

Team
Bedlam Theatre's team is what sets it apart from many other Fringe venues. With young people at its very core, launching the Bedlam, Fringe after Fringe, is always an exciting and terrifying task undertaken by a group of people brought together through their passion for theatre, devotion to the Bedlam and a reckless belief that they can, in fact, run a Fringe venue successfully.
Comprised of students and recent graduates, our team strives to be approachable and always on hand to our visiting companies and audiences, and we like to believe our love for the Bedlam really comes across in what we do. Our staff are praised for being amongst the friendliest at the Festival and our passion for all areas of the performing arts has made the Bedlam a theatre known for its comfortable atmosphere and enthusiasm.
The Bedlam’s exceptional reputation, in spite of its size, is a testament to our ongoing devotion to the building and its community, and we hope you enjoy your time spent with us.
Adam | Venue Manager
Adam has just graduated with a BEng in Electronics and Electrical Engineering with Management from Edinburgh University. He's spent the majority of the last 4 years working in Bedlam doing a variety of different roles, including Technical Manager, Theatre Manager, Business Manager and now Fringe Venue Manager. After Fringe he plans to take a long awaited break with his partner before jumping into the real world to find a job in finance within the arts. He still stands by the fact that both admin and VAT can be fun if you look at them in the right way, we'll see if he says the same thing in a few years' time. His choice of drink is champagne, so if you're ever feeling generous, come say hi.
Mihaela | Press, Publicity and Marketing Manager
Mihaela's first clumsy steps in the world of entertainment took place more than fifteen years ago, when she delivered a heartfelt rendition of "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" to a lovingly supportive audience of parents and teachers. She has, since, been involved in over twenty productions, accompanying her studies in History of Art and English Literature with roles on the Edinburgh University Theatre Company Committee as Bedlam Theatre's Marketing Manager and producing the upcoming "West Side Story" with the Edinburgh University Footlights. She is entering her final year at the University of Edinburgh and hopes someone would tell her what happens next.
Sarah | Front of House Manager
Sarah is a third year Business Studies student from the sunny Maldives. She joined Bedlam Theatre in her second year and has really enjoyed helping build a variety of intricate sets for shows ever since. She was the Front of House Manager at Bedlam during term-time and is incredibly excited to have been given the opportunity to continue the role over the Fringe Festival.
Ella | Theatre Manager
Ella has just finished her second year as a Social Anthropology undergrad at the University of Edinburgh. One of the highlights of her move from the sunny shores of her native Bahamas to the not-so-sunny shores of Scotland has been her time at Bedlam. Over the past two years she's dabbled in acting, tech, set and producing. She's now looking forward to tackling the job of Theatre Manager and doing her best to facilitate another fantastic Fringe at Bedlam.
Alex | Technical Manager
Alex, originally from Edinburgh, went to school just around the corner from Bedlam and spent numerous Fringes in and around the famous red doors. A recent physics graduate from the University of St Andrews, he has provided off-stage support for numerous plays and was a venue manager for On The Rocks 2012; Scotland's biggest student arts festival. With a background in both theatre and event tech, Alex is greatly looking forward to spending the Fringe with the prestigious Bedlam Theatre so come in and say hello!
Lewis | IT Manager
Lewis grew up in Edinburgh, and has seen more Fringe Festivals than you could shake a stick at. A techie by nature, Lewis is the Technical Manager of the Bedlam throughout the upcoming university semester, and can often be found operating a show, or up late at night working on some geeky project. He enjoys building websites, and hopes this one is an unrivalled success. Lewis is excited to be participating in yet another Fringe, and would like to remind his colleagues that he is fully aware that he should sleep more.
Kirstyn | Box Office Manager
Kirstyn Petras is currently a second year student at University of Edinburgh and is excited to work at the 2012 Fringe as a Box Office Manager at Bedlam. Though she studies international relations, she spends a considerably large percentage of her life in the theatre, mostly doing tech work for shows such as The Winter's Tale, A Chorus Line, Gormenghast, and Immaculate with various University theatre companies. Kirstyn is very happy to be spending a Fringe in such a unique venue, glad to have a fantastic partner, and wishes she could write these things without it sounding like a bottle of spray cheese exploded on a computer.
Emma | Box Office Manager
Emma will be joining Bedlam Theatre as one of the Box Office Managers and is looking forward to working with this year’s Fringe team. Last year she worked as Assistant Box Office Manager with C Venues, and has previously appeared in a number of productions with the EUTC including the Freshers Play 'I <3 U2' and 'God/Death'. She has just graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a Masters in Chemistry, and as a native of Edinburgh she is a Fringe veteran, so hopes that this experience will help make this the best Bedlam Fringe ever!
Bonnie | Café Manager
Bonnie grew up in Scotland and has visited the Fringe more times than she can count. She has just passed her first year of studying French and Spanish at Edinburgh University, in addition to spending a majority of her life at Bedlam Theatre during the year. She became involved in the EUTC during her freshers' week and has been involved in about a dozen productions at Bedlam since then. Before coming to University she was a regular volunteer usher and general busybody with a local arts charity in her area, helping out at workshops, setting up before shows and taking care of visiting companies, so she is looking forward to moving on to Fringe work, especially with such a great partner!
Katy | Café Manager
Katy is a second year student at the University of Edinburgh studying Medical Sciences. In term time, she spends her time around the Bedlam Theatre whilst spending as little time on stage as possible, trying her hand at painting, costumes and lighting with the EUTC. She adores cooking and baking and looks forward to tempting the Fringe audiences with some lovely brownies.
